Fond du Lac, Wis.—September 17, 2010 -- The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation is making $20,000 in grant funds available this year to non-profit organizations who share PDPF's passion and vision for education in dairy communities.
Grant dollars will be available to those organizations that present projects in the following two focus areas: 1) Building producer professionalism, or 2) Maintaining public trust within dairy communities.
“Education is the key to continued improvement,” says Deb Reinhart, dairy producer and chair of the Foundation Board. “Many great ideas exist for how to deliver education to our dairy communities. We are excited to be able to award dollars that might be instrumental in bringing great ideas to light.”
Since its founding in 2002, the Foundation has made funds available for dairy youth and mentor programs, community education programs and the National Dairy Animal Well-being Initiative.
Organizations may apply for grants of up to $5,000. The maximum amount given to any one organization will be $5,000. For grant criteria and an application package, visit www.dairyfoundation.org .
Grant applications are due December 17, 2010 .
The Foundation board of directors will select the grant recipients. The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation was established in 2002 as a way to raise funds and awards grants for educational programs. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) entity.
